Omg I just heard Gary Carter has died

One of the top catchers in the 80s. I had such a crush on him when I was a kid.

I knew him mostly from his years with the Mets. Great player, great team mate, great person. As a team leader he helped the Mets to the World Series in 1986.

Keith Olbermann told of a time when Carter helped him out by filling in for a guest that failed to show up for KO's on air interview.
