*hattip* HarveyDarkey ~ Which Philosopher Are You?

You got: Friedrich Nietzsche.

You think that morality is relative and don’t think that people should subscribe to a common set of beliefs. You believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to develop their own set of rules to abide by.

You don’t think that anything exists unless it is being perceived. You think that the best way to learn about the world is to experience as many things as possible.

If you don’t understand something, you’re not afraid to ask questions about it. You try your hardest to be a moral person and don’t value material possessions very highly.

You spend a lot of time thinking and often find yourself unable to express your thoughts to those around you. You’re baffled by the world and don’t think it’s possible to make sense of it.

When making moral decisions, you try not to have double standards and always ask yourself whether you’d be happy for others to act in the same way as you do. You always try not to be selfish.

Although you believe in individual
freedom, you think that social
contracts are necessary in order to
allow society to function in a
rational, non-impulsive way.

You think that the mind and body are seperate, and that the mind controls the body. You’re also a bit of a a trend-setter and you’re never afraid to express new opinions.

Of course that I had to guess at some of the things (Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the only teen drama I'd heard of and who are these housewives they have photos of?) may have skewed the result.

Except for the most commonly mentioned ones. Aside from one course on logical thinking, I stuck mostly with hard sciences.

Works for me, although I am such a contemporary cultural illiterate that I hadn't watched any of the teevee programs, so just made choices based on fun title and most desperate looking housewife.

You got: Michel Foucault.
You find it hard to self-define, as you believe that you’re always changing. You don’t believe that power is possessed by individuals, but instead think power is an action that individuals can engage in.

You got: Thomas Hobbes.

You’re a strong advocate of equal rights for all people and think that the best way to ensure that everyone has the rights they deserve is to give up individual freedom and accept policies from a central authority.

I mean, there is some merit to that thinking, but it is incomplete.

Not too surprising.

So in the last week from these buzzfeed quizes I'm Friedrich Nietzsche, should be hanging out with Hemingway and only permitted to own a Chia pet. Strangely accurate despite me never being able to recognize any of the options for tv shows.

You think life is what we make of it and believe that our experiences shape the people we become. You also think that every person is entitled to the same rights.
