War on Christmas

Christmas day is celebrated without any probability of correctness on the 25th of December. The Mayor of Canterbury tried to put it down as a superstitious festival and markets were told to remain open. In 1652 an order of Parliament said "no observation shall be had of the fifth and twentieth day of December." In Bury St. Edmunds, it was the traditional day for hunting owls and squirrels.

If its been running since 1652 and there is still a "christmas", I think its time to give up the war.
