Christmas Trees
Many people know Christmas tree tradition came from Germany, but Germany's Christmas tree tradition came from Egypt, antecendent to the Christian era. The palm tree puts out a shoot every month, so a spray of this tree at the time of the winter solstice is a symbol of the year completed. Pyramids were also a common Christmas decoration in early times, festooned with colorful paper chains.
