food rave of the day (3/31): hot dogs

I tend to be a fan of the all-beef frank. And I love it steamed, in a steamed bun.

What are you going to put on yours?

Mustard, onions, relish, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery salt, and a dill pickle spear. However, I'd happily eat one with mustard, onions, and sauerkraut.

Yes, definitely sport peppers! And, the poppy seed bun. I already did my penance today by following the Cubs' season opener, which they lost 1-0 in extra innings. Sigh.

I actually don't hate the Sox. Mostly it's because I'm not an AL fan. I pull for them when they're not playing the Flubs.

I rarely eat a hot dog, though. Once in awhile.

So bad for you. But sometimes very, very yummy!

But out of respect, when I'm with someone who kisses Hank's ass I eat my wieners on buns with no condiments.

Kosher or all natural dogs only.

And you put all of the above UNDER the hot dog, not on top of it. That way it doesn't drip all over the place
and it soaks into the bread to extend the flavor.

Between the dog, the mustard, the ketchup, and the relish, this is a salt-poison concoction.
Still like it now and then!

on my Angus hot dogs. I like them on the grill, but I just boiled them up and had them with some baked beans yesterday. It's a low stress meal that even the kids will eat, so I do 'em up once a month, at least. Peace at the dinner table!
