Are there any New Orleans frequent visitors around?

I'm looking for some recommendations for good restaurants in the French Quarter or Warehouse District. I just ate at Mulate's. They had some really good food. I have a few more days to check out the town.

1. You need not confine yourself to the Quarter or CBD

many fine dining establishments are a streetcar or bus ride away, especially along St. Charles, Canal and Magazine streets. They are often cheaper, and filled with New Orleanians rather than visitors. Possibly the largest concentration of these is in Carrollton, right where the St. Charles streetcar turns right off St. Charles onto Carrollton Ave. Get off at Maple, and come hungry.

2. The food was a little pricey,

but the portions were huge. I'll check out Carrolton tomorrow. Thanks

5. I recommend Cochon and Desi Vega's

Both great spots. Very lively with great food.

They are pricey, though.

6. Hit up Cochon

They had good grilled oysters and crawfish pie.
