Watching the most recent one which is 2 miles west of me. We have high temps, 3% humidity, wind and tinder dry conditions. News just reporting a seventh outbreak. Thousands of people evacuated. Our fire season is Sept/Oct. But not with no rain and climate change. oops, no climate change, smile.

(21,925 posts)I live near the beach in north Orange County and it was 99 degrees in the house for much of midday. Tomorrow is supposed to be even worse. I can't remember a month of May this hot in southern California. At least the 70 mph winds that knocked out electrical power to my home over the weekend and that nearly pushed over the palm tree in my front yard were gone today.

(6,719 posts)Supposed to be blistering hot today. Winds are calm. New crews are coming in. Now nine fires. Weird. I never watch TV in the day time but I have been glued to the TV!
