20 years ago or so I got a new battery put in my car. While they were doing it, the mechanic fried my cars computer.

I left the place, made the lights going out of that town headed back to my little town.

There was a massive bike ride passing through my town. As I was coming in we saw a greater and greater number of cyclists. Fortunately coming into my town is a steep uphill grade. I went to slow down with the brakes and - HOLY CRAP NO BRAKES -
and the cyclists were getting thick. I jammed the car into low and sort of drove off road.

I slowed quickly and got to a place where I could stop (rolling in neutral. The bikes went by and I sat there and shook.

When it was all clear, I called the shop where I had gotten the battery. "Bring it back in and I will fix it" the guy said.
"Are you nuts?" I asked. There was a shop a couple blocks from my house. I took it down there and parked it til the owner couild take care of it on Monday. I then sent the bill to the original garage.
