The Flower Duet

This is the Flower Duet from Lakme by the composer Delibes. You might recognise it as the soundtrack to a recent British Airways commercial.

This moment of grace and beauty was brought to you by your local cynical, flint-hearted jerkoff who can be brought to tears and ecstasy by this sort of thing.

Thank you for this!

It's uncommon that classical music gets any time in the Lounge. So this makes me very happy!

Tears and ecstasy are good things for anyone...

I'm glad you liked it.

Some days only music can give me hope for the future of humanity.

We have the wonderful classic King here. After an unfortunate stint as a commercial classical music station ("And now, after this traffic report, here's some Baroque too hot to Handel...&quot , it's returned to a listener-supported station.

I'm proud to say we're founding members here at Obvious Manor.

You should hear me in the shower.

No, on second thoughts, you shouldn't. It really doesn't even begin to measure up.

that when any one of my pets die, they have something very fitting to their character played very loudly, usually over and over during and after their burial, often while entertaining friends with wine sharing memories of X pet. The Flower Duet forever belongs to Sp.E.C.T.R.E.; my desk dwelling kitty, who always had the 'I'm in love with you' look in her eyes towards me (and only me).

I'm at least two cats and two dogs behind the curve because I'm scared to take on the grief again.

I'm fairly conversant with most classical music, but I hadn't even heard of Delibes before.

This track is from a 2 CD collection that I have called "The Greatest Opera Show on Earth".

Our local classical station, Classic KING FM, was playing it yesterday during a fundraiser.
