"Naked and Afraid" - my new guilty pleasure.

One woman, one man, total strangers, shed clothes and have to survive together for 21 days in a jungle/swamp/ugly dangerous place.
Ch 182 on Dish.

The frontal 'naughty bits' are blurred.
Lots of butts, though.
Soft porn.

Interesting to see how they interact.
Some do well, some not so much.

Perfect strangers stripped naked and dropped into the wilderness and made to survive without so much as a lighter?
Why do they have to be naked? It's not like you can see the naughty bits.
And is there any kind if prize if you make it to the end?

Yeah, that's entertainment.

Several participants have already been seriously injured, including one woman who contracted Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever and will likely be somewhat incapacitated for the rest of her life because of it. The only allegations of "fakery" apparently involve a couple of instances where the shows medical staff have intervened to save contestants from starvation or life threatening injury (and one instance where they provided tampons to a female contestant). There is still some debate as to whether that qualifies as "fakery", though I tend to come down as a mild yes vote simply because they didn't disclose it.

I was skeptical of Naked and Afraid at first, but it's honestly the most real of the survival-type reality shows. There are no stupid votes, no personality contests, no setups, and no scripts. It's one man and one woman, dropped into the middle of nowhere without a stitch of clothing and only one survival item of their choice, who have to live off the land for 21 days using just their wits. If anything, the show is actually a bit too real...the participants tend to be fairly normal people, and without the fakery and scripted drama in other survival shows, they can be a bit dull.

Its fun to see them first worry about the nudity, then realize that is the least of the things they should worry about.

Some seem to worry more about the nudity than survival.

My daughter's roommate in high school was on it as one of the participants, but that is the extent of my knowledge.

Definitely don't want to watch it. I saw about 30 seconds of one episode and that was enough for me.
