Be kind to me tonight. I posted this thread half an hour before I left for work. I was supposed to be done by 10AM and back home by 1PM. I just walked in the door five minutes ago. Today was a clusterfuck that worked out well for me.

By the way ... what color did you wear?

plum top, black slacks, plum socks, sneakers.

I just got home from work myself about 20 minutes ago. Fed the dogs, gave the birds their treats and tucked them in, fed the pony. Now I'm eating my sorrel soup that I forgot I'd brought to work.

But I'm a Physician Assistant, not a Medical Assistant. Not anymore, anyway. I was an MA from 2002-2010, when I graduated from PA School.

But thank you...

I knew you were a PA, but didn't realize the differences. (I thought MA just kind of included everyone!)

A retroactive LOL

medicine. Things like immunizations, blood draws, rooming patients, taking vital signs, calling hospitals and prior providers for records, etc.

Physician Assistants are medical providers, just like doctors and ARNP's. We are licensed to practice clinical medicine, and do so in just about every sphere of medicine. Although we are nominally under the supervision of an MD (unlike ARNP's who are legally allowed to practice independently), we have a lot of autonomy in actual practice. I see my supervising physician 2-3 times a month. He's usually at another clinic.
