WHAT IS DAY OF THE DEAD
Dia de los Muertos is a traditional Meso-American holiday dedicated to the ancestors; it honors both death and the cycle of life. In Mexico, neighbors gather in local cemeteries to share food, music, and fun with their extended community, both living and departed. The celebration acknowledges that we still have a relationship with our ancestors and loved ones that have passed away.

(72,300 posts)10. Did you know it Red Rubber Ball was written by Paul Simon?
In an interview on The Colbert Report, Paul Simon said he wrote "Red Rubber Ball" while living in England to get a £100 advance from The Seekers. This came in response to Colbert's request for a song that was "on the cusp" and barely made it into his songbook Lyrics 19642008.
I love Turn Down Day. Thank you

Although how much is Woodley, couldn't say.
I love "Turn Down Day," too. "Someone's radio has the news tuned in/But nobody cares what he's saying." Think we could use a little more of that in Modern Times.

Creamy Deviled Eggs
INGREDIENTS
8 large eggs
1/3 cup light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon white-wine vinegar
1 tablespoon minced shallot
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce, such as Tabasco
Coarse salt and ground pepper
Paprika, for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Place eggs in a medium saucepan; add cold water to cover by 1 inch. Bring to a rolling boil. Remove pan from heat; cover, and let stand 13 minutes. Drain, and run eggs under cold water to cool them.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, mix together mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, shallot, and hot sauce.
Peel eggs, and halve lengthwise; remove yolks, leaving whites intact. Transfer yolks to bowl with mayonnaise mixture, and season with salt and pepper. Mash with a fork until smooth.
Mound yolk mixture into whites. Sprinkle with paprika just before serving, or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 8 hours.

that it looked unappetizing and why ruin perfectly good deviled eggs like that?!1!
I'm getting hungry. Almost any deviled egg would look good. Plus I love fried chicken.
I haven't won the lottery so I can't afford to hire a chief. A west coast DUer offered to cook for me but he never showed up. The kitchen is well stocked I just don't feel like cooking. sigh
