(46,436 posts)but since I'm a huge Oregon fan, I'm not feeling too terrible.
Oh, my gosh, they just scored again. I think Marcus is trying to make a point. LOL.

(2,273 posts)That was my favorite game of the year, shows how bad FSU really is and how they should have never been there.

(46,436 posts)but we've been watching Marcus Mariota since he was a freshman. He seems like such a nice guy, and it's nice to have a team that isn't in the SEC get some recognition.

(50,566 posts)I think I'm a bit negative because so many of my friends are obsessed with the Ducks and I just get sick of hearing about them, seeing nonstop messages like Go Ducks!, etc. on their Facebook pages, etc. I'm not from Oregon and I kind of feel like, jeez, don't you people have anything else to focus on? I mean, okay, you like your team, but I've lived in other places that weren't so obsessed with a college team, maybe because they were bigger cities that had more attractions and also more professional sports teams. My attitude is, it's only a game, and it seems sort of juvenile to me to be so into something like that. But, I'm probably a snob.

Arugula Latte
(50,566 posts)but to be honest I think the obsession with the Ducks is a bit provincial. I'm at low tolerance this time of year because of all the Duck hoopla. But, it's really not a huge issue with me.
grasswire
(50,130 posts)....where you call yourself a "snob" lies in the snark. You insulted the town and its people, saying in part that Portland is not as graced with attractions as other cities, and now you call its citizens provincial. !!!
Honestly, you live in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in town -- a great town. What more do you want?
The Blazers, the Timbers, the Ducks, the Winterhawks --- Portlanders WILL show their pride. Like it or lump it. But complaining about it is rude.
Arugula Latte
(50,566 posts)Didn't think it was that big of a deal, just spouting off on the hoopla, but okay, mega mea culpa, I'm sorry, I apologize. I am happy to live here, just sick of the Duck thing.
