Sixteenth Century Cannibalistic Serial Child Killer!
In 1572 something was killing the children of Dole in eastern France. The province decided a werewolf was abroad, but it was Gilles Garnier, a local hermit and cannibalistic serial murderer who fed the children to his wife. Garnier said a spirit had given him an ointment that allowed him to hunt in the shape of a wolf. He was burned at the stake for lycanthropy and witchcraft.
