... that the capybara is their mother. It looks to be mutual too. I wonder if this is a "fostering" situation.

Aparently the capybara is a boy though. But I wonder if animals care about that?

So it's like a huge rodent.

I had a relative, she had a black poodle and lived on a farm. She brought home some baby chicks, her dad was a chicken farmer.

That poodle wouldn't let anyone within a foot of those chicks without taking a very protective stance. lol She nestled right up with them in their box. She was treating them like they were her pups. It was adorable.

They like to sit around in water as if they're in a hot tub. Well, sort of like this...

Here's another one of JoeJoe "playing" with one of his puppeh's...

"Hey you! Yeah, you! I'm biting on your bottom! Hey! Hey you! Wake up! I'm poking at your bum! Ugh, never mind. zzzzzzz..."

That's so cute about that poodle and the baby chicks! Animals are so adorable especially when they do cute stuff with different animals... and most especially with different animals you'd expect they'd want for lunch.

What a good mommy doggie to teach sharing to her baby furballs... or stealing the toy to play with herself.

They get out of their "hot tubs" and do it in some other bit of water. I also found out that they have valves in their ears to close them so water doesn't get in.

Interesting that the females are bigger though. And 140 lbs. is HUGE! They're like hamster krakens on quaaludes.

The Wump World was one of my favorite childhood books*. If I ever have the space and the opportunity, I plan to adopt a capybara and name it Speak...

* Capybaras just look like wumps to me.

I loved The Tick. Just the cartoon. That was one of the most hilarious episodes. Thanks for the reminder and laugh!

If a capybara isn't completely comatose than it's playing.

Laziest creature on earth. They look so blessedly content though.
