Update #2 on my neighbor's murder

Sorry to make this a "post & run" but wanted to post this before leaving for work:

Last night the police knocked on our door again!

They informed us that the paperwork on our prior interview had been lost (!) and they needed to interview us again.

So, we went through the whole thing again, and then followed up by asking if we'd "heard anything new."
Or seen anything suspicious, or had any suspicions about "whodunnit".

???????

They closed by saying, "Please call us if you hear or say anything, including rumors. We'd rather have 10 people call with the same information than nobody call, each assuming someone else will."

All this makes me feel:

1) The lead on "someone from Allison's past" fell through
2) They are back to square one
3) There still is the possibility of a murderer in the neighborhood

Am I jumping to conclusions here?!?!

I don't know any details other than that.

My only speculation in that direction might be that their could POSSIBLY be some sort of drug and / or smuggling connection, but that's just wild speculation on my part.

But why couldn't they just say so? If one of my neighbors was murdered, I would not object to being recanvassed.

I am suspicious of the police these days.

It might've been that she surprised a burglar who panicked and struck her.

There was no sign of forced entry into the house.

That's all the information we have regarding that aspect of the case.

I'm probably being a big baby, but it's really upsetting.

Poor Allison!

I hope she didn't suffer much terror or pain before it was over.
I just can't seem to stop thinking about what it was like for her.
