Normandy is fantastic, did the grand loop 8 years ago and had a ball. Started out in Paris, and planned from there. Last stop. Mt Ste. Michel.
Not a negative to be found. Enjoy!

It should be on your route to Mt. Ste. Michel. We tried to visit Dinan but got lost because of road construction. I understand that we missed a jewel of a city. Been to Chartres and Fontainebleau. Booth amazing. Take the tour of Chartres Cathedral if you can. Also, down behind the Cathedral is a wonderful old city that is missed by many. We stayed at Hotel de la Poste in the middle of everything. Good accommodations, east access to everything.

I am so jealous. Are you traveling with your own itinerary? We never had reservations on our trips except night of arrival in Paris and night before our return home. In case of connection problems or traffic.)

The restaurant so highly touted for omeletts on Mt St/M is too expensive, other restaurants on the Mt. are good and far less $$$$. Touristy but worth it.

Edited for PS. We went in MaY. Weather was fantastic. Few days required light jacket or sweater but most just sunny and in the upper 60's.

The itinerary is as below. I am too chicken little and like more control so I always book. Yes, early May. I'm excited. Oh, I see I need to add Fountainbleau in. Merde.

I went to Provence last fall: check it out, bebe! http://provence.curtisrush.com/

Love the history, the food, the people. Wish I could go again but that is not in the cards.
Don't know where Nyons is but it has to be wonderful.

In fact, it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. And the food is wonderful. I spent one year there from 1998-1999. Corsica is very close by plane or boat and is worth the trip.

The Old Town of Nice is amazing, a labyrinth of little streets and shops, bars, restaurants, and clubs.

This just a week long trip. Staying with two friends in a house in Nyons.
Expect to go back there and other places in Europe in the coming years.
