I got a great phone call this afternoon.

Before the last presidential election I posted this:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021497758
Greg and I owned 32 acres together, with right of survival. I knew from the beginning, as did he, that the survivor would follow the other's wishes. I could never pin him down about what he wanted me to do with his estate. It turns out he left a will, although it was never finalized. One third to one set of his nephews/ nieces, one third to his other nephews/nieces, and one third to my four kids.
Not just the land, but any other monies too. Well, I had the land surveyed, split it up, and deeded it according to his wishes.
Today, two and a half years later, I learned that he had some money stashed. Each of my four kids will be getting a check for $4,200.
I'm still in shock. Thanks for loving my kids Greg....

Edit to add: I know that they'd all give it up to have that crusty old f***er back.

Land to set down roots and money to help spread their wings

Greg sounds like a kind and wise man.

Sorry for your loss. I missed the original thread.

Are pure humanity.

I am sorry about your friend, but I love what he did. I also love that you and he trusted each other and that human beings still have a believe in a contract bound by love and friendship.

I am gonna make this the last thing I read tonite. It gives me comfort.
