(149,699 posts)Many people take refuge here, to escape their crazy lives, to have some fun, to smile or laugh...
I've done that, myself. And people I'm close to have as well.

(11,833 posts)I think a lot of us have stuff like that going on, in different ways. Have all the fun you want online! Funny story. I used to post to every newcomer 'Welcome to DU! Have fun!' Till I kind of slowly realized that everyone isn't having fun, they may have lots of personal and/or family issues. Most of us do! So I toned it down a bit, roflmao.
I hope your husbands' health improves, and yours too. I say a little prayer every night. Just said one for you and your family.

We all need a break from life sometimes.
I seem to remember that laughter is the best medicine ...

(31,402 posts)Sorry you have so many anxieties at home. You are not alone.
I have quite a few friends who either currently have--or recently had--adult children living at home.
The job market is still pretty lousy in a lot of places. Some of these adults either have mental health
issues or financial management issues and are still finding their way.
As for the one in high school, how are the grades? Or activities? Eight years ago when our youngest
was getting ready to go to college, my husband spent a lot of time on-line looking for and helping
him apply for scholarships. It paid off. Fortunately, he was happy to go in-state to UNC, but the scholarship
money our son was awarded just about paid his tuition bill for four years, so we only had to contribute for
books and living expenses. It's never too early to start looking for college aid.
Hope the health issues you and your husband are facing resolve. I hear you, there. We are also facing the
possibility of a potentially devastating diagnosis for my husband. More info is needed; he has an appointment
with a neurologist this week that we hope will start to get some answers.
So, please, yes, do have some fun!

(28,394 posts)When you are having fun, it brings joy or a smile to others here. Just about everyone has something stressful going on in their lives. Some just talk about it more than others.
You are among friends here. Never forget that.

I suspect the OP that I suspect inspired this thread was missed as humor by some, because it was so very dry. Which some of us key into more quickly than others

(30,761 posts)living at home. I live in a small town that is rather nasty and close-minded, so I got my talented children out of here as soon as possible.
However, the rest of your post could have been mine.
Have fun online. Sometimes it is the best escape. Even if you have little energy left over, at least come in here and respond to other people's posts. If they joke around with you, it is good medicine. If they try to start and argument, ignore them.
We'll all help each other the best we can.
