I wish they were not so popular.

They are very intelligent and won't do anything they think is stupid.

This is a great thing when you are depending on your dog in the icy wilderness, but most of the rules of suburban life are clearly stupid from a husky's perspective.

Ours was taken away from owners who couldn't handle him so they kept him on a chain 24/7 which is illegal in California.

He loves hanging out in our house, and he's grown to be very affectionate, but the amount of hair he sheds is astonishing and he's destroyed much of our backyard. He also won't stay out of the trash.

Huskies don't bark at strangers, but they talk a lot when they want something, or object to something, and they sing like wolves and coyotes, especially to the police, fire, and ambulance sirens, which happens around here a few times a day.
