So Chris Squire died today. I think he was one of the best bassists of all time. All of Yes musicians were quite talented.
RIP Chris. We will miss you.
(I am listening to "And you and I" for my own tribute.)

(34,377 posts)I think I'll break out my vinyl "Tales from Topographic Oceans" that I bought around 1973 & play it. R.I.P.

(10,624 posts)He was my favorite bass player by far, and his harmony (and occasional lead) vocals were an essential element of the classic Yes sound.
I got to see Chris twice. He was a great performer with an engaging stage presence.
His death is a real loss to me. The music he made entertained and inspired me immensely, but, greedy bastard that I am, I wanted one more album.

RIP Mr. Squire.
Always thought that Yes and CSN&Y had the best vocal harmonies.

Chris always found that high harmony that worked so well w/ Jon's voice.
RIP Chris, you will be missed.
