(152,707 posts)It's unfortunate that they're necessary, but I think they will do a lot of good over the long haul.
Nice to see you today!

(72,300 posts)Oh and, I agree with you.
I have been studying and testing for the past two weeks. I passed the state exam yesterday. Today is my day to be kind to me. My poor brain is fried.

(152,707 posts)I was on a jury yesterday, and that was the first time I saw those new instructions.
Congrats on passing the state exam! Time to rest your fried brain for sure! If I may ask, what field was the test in?

Congrats, J!

(72,300 posts)I think this will be easier.
It's always nice to provide an interesting lead when possible. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

(17,820 posts)I have a real hate-hate relationship with that test. Refused to do it in high school. Later had to take it too when I was applying for an insurance gig. Failed. (Well, you can't "fail" the test, it just indicated I shouldn't be selling insurance, which I could have told them without the test)
And congratulations on being gainfully employed!

(72,300 posts)it was a timed, select the right answer from a set of four choices test. Oh and, it takes 70 or more correct answers to pass.

(17,820 posts)A multiple-choice ("take out your Number Two pencils, boys and girls" personality test which is intended to tell how crazy you are, and in what ways. Includes questions like "Would you rather lead a parade, watch a parade, or be in a parade." Initial version (which I refused in HS) was heavily flawed due to the shallowness of the sample pool used for calibrating the answers; they've been refining the thing ever since 1943.

(72,300 posts)It was real facts, approved business practices, law and penalties. IMO: a very through testing of knowledge learned specifically about health and accident policies.

(118,107 posts)I usually don't write anything to radical in my jury comments, but I'll be much more careful to follow community standards in the future.

(51,308 posts)I actually posted in ATA because I was so impressed with them.
Some of the juror comments were so out of line.
And when someone makes a horrid comment like that. you just KNOW they are not a good and impartial juror.

If you submit abusive or offensive comments when serving on a jury, your eligibility to serve on juries may be revoked, and the comment which caused the loss of eligibility may be displayed publicly on your Profile page.

(39,143 posts)Nope.
When someone like you 'a person who doesn't post abusively or offensively' is on a jury there is no reason to review your comment.

Hey, hey, don't be mean... No matter where you go, there you are...

(16,585 posts)I was shocked by some jury comments and there was a button to report abuse. To my knowledge, the button was a black hole to nowhere.
I know they cannot possibly review every vote but I think it's fair that either the jurors or the alertee or the author of the OP can now point out the abuse and have something done about it.

(17,820 posts)... so I was startled to see that such a regulation was necessary. At any rate, I always follow the example of H2O Man and sign my juror comments. (Arguments could be made against it, but I think accountability is useful)

CaliforniaPeggy
(152,707 posts)I do not sign mine. I don't want anyone coming after me for something I said........or didn't say. And there are enough people who don't like me to make that a concern.

(17,820 posts)I bite off the heads of critics and spit them out.
It is a sorry commentary on the human race, though, my dear Peggy, that anyone could not like you.

(71,139 posts)Not that i read every jury decision, but from the many i've been on, i've never seen an abusive comment from a juror.

(10,237 posts)this new rule has been needed for a while here .

(72,300 posts)It isn't difficult to be kind instead of abusive and still make a point clear.
