Classic sounds. Mellow, descriptive, and tells a poignant story.

Paul Simon the songwriter at his best. S & G as performers, too.

I've posted different videos of it here on DU a few times.

Always loved S&G--so MANY great songs! (I think "Sounds of Silence" would make a GREAT heavy-metal headbanger song, BTW! ) Loved "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", Scarborough Fair/Canticle", "Poem on the Underground Wall"--ad infinitum!

Thank you for posting, ITW!

the subway wall they had intended to use as a backdrop had obscenities written on it.

Would the background photo be changed if the album was published today?

Are you groaning at Sarah’s big hair?
(Partly sane, rogue, nary on time)
Remember she will collect big fees there
She’s the one Fox pays for her time.

Ask her no questions with big fancy words
(write so they fit on her hand)
(Partly sane, rogue, nary on time)
Ask not if she might know of the Kurds (any, all of them)
She will say no unrehearsed line.

Tell her it’s time to say things that are true
(even when she’s on Fox News)
(Partly sane, rogue, nary on time)
(Now North Korea is our new best friend)
It’s always good to try something new (try reality)
Tina Fey will say it’s just fine.
