(110,159 posts)that you like as people. one will take him. i had a dog i loved. got married. hubby and dog jealous of each other. i had to find a home for this dog..... and found a place for her with an older woman, alone. that needed the dog more than i.
find a family with young children that are looking to have their first dog. he is older and will be easier for a parent to bring into the home, than a puppy. i can see it as a true gift for another. the right person for this dog will come along.

My stepdaughter just adopted a dog from them that came from Texas.
I have two myself, and could not handle another.
But this organization brings a pet to a local TV station once a week for people to see and (hopefully) adopt. In fact, the dog my stepdaughter adopted hadn't even arrived yet at the Dakin Center before there were a bunch of inquiries on him.
I'm so terribly sorry you have to let him go. He looks like a fine boy... My heart aches for both of you.
Oh, PS... FairyDogParents.org can often help people with expenses

(16,232 posts)when he "has" to be adopted.
My nephew thinks he's beautiful, but has a large dog already. He is checking around with people he knows, but is waiting to hear back from me. I'm thinking if you don't find anyone else, he'll consider taking him - at the very least until he CAN find someone else who will.
He loves dogs - and would never mistreat one - nor allow anyone else to. He may have his faults (redneck Southern boy) but he LOVES DOGS!
He grew up in Goose Creek, btw.

(6,001 posts)I would LOVE for a Goose Creek neighbor to take him so I know he is ok

(16,232 posts)If not, whan will you get there? Do you have to have a home before you arrive? Or do you have a grace period? Where are you now, if not?
