I hit my biggest goal that I set for this weekend (went over by 5lbs). Best shape ever especially bottom half (need to do more upper weights). Celebrating this weekend in NYC with back to back Robert Plant concerts, brewery tour and hanging with one of my best friends.
Last night at the show the most amazing thing wasn't that we were right in the front row about 10 feet from Robert Plant. Sure that was awesome and I had to pay tribute to the guy whose music, when played loud enough, kept me on the Elliptical for 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. But it was the people I met at the show including drinks afterwards with 2 nice gentlemen who said they were shocked that I was 49 and said how amazing I looked. It's just weird going from overlooked fat girl to this and kinda nice too.
Losing weight is the hardest fucking thing I have ever done in my life but what scares me more is keeping it off. About 6-7 months ago I realized that I was no longer dieting but this was me and how it was going to be the rest of my life- each day just being healthy and making healthy choices.
Well off to NYC.....
Btw for those of you still trying to lose do not give up! If you ever needle friendly support and encouragement just ask. It was my friends who helped me get here - they are the best weight loss support out there!!!

(46,736 posts)Have been exercising for years, but it's never enough to lose weight. Since it feels like my blood sugar problems are leveling off, I went cold turkey this week and stopped relying on the afternoon sugar pump. I suspect it was the factor that interfered with my weight loss objective. Nothing is showing up on the scales, yet, but I will keep trying. Might try the elliptical next since it worked for you.
Hope you had an enjoyable trip.
