The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSo the Foo Fighters kicked major ass last night!
Got there around 7:00, ate at the restaurant at Honda Center called Standing O. Gary Clark Jr was amazing, one of the best opening acts that I've seen in a long time. And then the Foo Fighters brought the house down. Oh Dave Grohl, you are so awesome. They even did a 15 minute improv jam with Gary Clark Jr, and at some point Dave was like "Hey, we don't do that encore bullshit! We're just going to stay here and fucking play until they turn the lights up!"
So here's a shot of what the stage looked like:

(2,273 posts)Plus I just wanted to see Gary Clark Jr. Luckily he is doing another show here in April and the tickets are actually affordable.

(100,068 posts)He was so loud that you could hear his band throughout the building. I definitely want to see him play again at some point.

(19,089 posts)I had for extra tickets ... I tried to sell them at the venue before entering - there were SO MANY extra tickets ... I wound up selling them at approx 20% face value ... So did the other sellers ...
I really hate that sites like Ticketmaster are selling tickets for events like 8 months in advance. I am going to see David Gilmour in March but the tickets went on sale like back in August. That definitely hurts sellers. I want to get tickets for Iron Maiden but the show is in April.

(100,068 posts)Whenever something sounds like it could be a band name, I always say "Hey I saw them at the Troubadour last week!"
"Yeah the Butt Abrasions, I saw them at the Troubadour last week!"

(4,012 posts)They freakin rocked!!! Dave jumped off stage & ran the bases during a song, good times.
Oh yeah and the Police were legendary of course.

(100,068 posts)Well sort of. Didn't make it for the Foos (who I actually wanted to see more than the Police, but seeing the Police was an added bonus) though because I spent about four and a half hours stuck in traffic getting from the Alameda exit on the 101 to Dodger Stadium. And then when I finally found a parking space I had to run from my car to get to the entrance just in time for the Police to start. That was not fun to say the least.
