(13,661 posts)my feral's feeding station (and my sweet feral sat back while this kitty ate). Kitten took off before I could get a photo --- but s/he needs a home! (I already have 5 and for various complicated reasons like not having a permanent place to live at the moment can't increase the number to 6...)

(53,339 posts)Almost all black, with a few white markings. A tomcat who was constantly getting into fights. He was so injured from fighting once that I skipped a major college exam (mid-term or final, I forget which) to nurse him and feed him from an eyedropper. He survived, and my prof gave me a make-up exam. Whew! on both counts.
He was also excellent fun and mostly intelligent--except for that fighting thing.

(26,117 posts)A stray had a litter of kittens in my sister's window well a couple years ago. We adopted these two at 8 weeks.

(53,339 posts)You got lucky in more ways than one.
Letting your kids name the pets is risky, like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

(35,662 posts)I have had four black cats; two have crossed over (yet stay in touch ), and I have two now, along with one white cat who has a few gray spots.
My family is fond of black cats. My brother has had two, also, and has one now.
The two I have now are sisters. They are an oddball pair: they are total opposites. One is "chubby," the other skinny. One loves the outdoors; the other is uninterested in nature. One is "mouthy," the other is quiet. One has crazy eyes like the illustration in the OP.
I love their silhouettes.

(970 posts)of the 6 we have currently. Of varying ages. Oldest we inherited from co-worker of my wife. Her mother had to move in with them, and she was allergic. Next was part of 2 for 1 deal at a shelter, actually he was the 1, the tabby was the add-on. The youngest hopped over the fence as a kitten with another little orange and white kitten about the same age. She's a little hellion, but cute as can be.
We had an all black Persian that was one of the sweetest cats ever. I remember one Hallowen when she was just shy of a year old. I opened the door for some Trick-or-Treaters, a couple of Middle School girls, and Shadow came from around the door to see what the fuss was. The squee was EPIC from those two. This cute little self propelled black cat-shaped fluff ball was the last thing they expected, and they just loved it. Lots of black fur, these two huge golden eyes, and the Persian pushed-in nose just melted them. One of my favorite memories, the sight of such surprised joy from these young kids.

(22,271 posts)one is all black (Loki, a.k.a. Loki Moki Noki) and one is all white. We got Loki when she was about 5 weeks old (dumped by someone). Loki is my psychopath kittie, but we love her just the way she is. (Husband swear momma cat kicked her out of the birthing box because "she ain't right."

(113,284 posts)I can observe) who is almost pure black. but, he is one smart kitteh, and has been safe the last two halloweens. (because of the abuse issues, I cannot pick him up to bring him in, and he won't on his own)
