(4,138 posts)That's an awesome album cover, especially since it was released decades before heavy metal bands started sticking devils everywhere. It's a pretty good (and extensively covered, even outside of gospel) album too.

Of course, the same can be said for some of my favorite metal bands: Carcass, Impaled Nazarene, Goatwhore, etc...
Te funny thing about the Louvin Bros is I think they were true believers but had demons of their own - alcoholism, cheating wives, etc...

(50,564 posts)This album cover USUALLY makes lists of "the worst album covers of all time." With justification.
Contrary to the old cliche, sometimes you CAN tell a book by its cover, especially when it's this cover. As bad as the art is, what's on the vinyl is worse: "Julie's Sixteenth Birthday" is the heartwarming tale of an alcoholic who killed his own daughter in a car crash.
