It complicates a relationship. Thank God we both like cilantro.

I've had a couple episodes of Ocular Migraine, a/k/a "painless" migraine - it starts with a bright flash of light like a camera flash then you "see" a shimmering zigzag black line that very slowly moves away on a slant from right to left and then it's gone. It lasts between 20-30 minutes. Of course, thie zig zag line is not out there in reality. The brain "sees' it. I can even "see" this line with my eyes crossed. It's painless but very distracting. The first time I had it it scared the hell out of me.

One thing I'd read was it had to do with separation of the retina. I'm glad to hear that's not it! Whenever I'm working again (and have insurance) I'll have to see about getting my eyes checked, and ask about that kind of migraine.

They happened about a year apart, and everything was as you described. The second time I wasn't as worried about it since nothing had happened the first time. I just forced myself to relax and waited it out.

...blue eyes are the result of preferential reflection rather than actual blue pigment. Blue eyes lack the pigment to appear brown and a very thin structure in the eye interferes with a narrow range of wavelengths of incident light.

Just another from my mental warehouse of useless information.
