(17,055 posts)We live in MA but vacation in the south.
We love the Myrtle Beach area and have been to Charleston a couple of times.
We can't make up our minds where we want to retire Myrtle Beach area, Blue Ridge Mountains area of Georgia or Smoky Mountains area of Tennessee. We love all three areas!
Enjoy your new location, I'm sure you will!

(6,001 posts)without doubt the most beautiful place I have ever lived. It's everything we both want...my city living and her down home family atmosphere all in one.It is a unique area.old south charm and feel with all the amenities and comforts of the modern world.
It is..in a word....perfect.Men still hold doors for ladies there.
Children know what the words maam and sir mean
People say please and thank you and mean it.The people are amazing.
Yet......
They have 4g wifi downtown...modern art galleries...a bustling music and theater scene, some amazing local restaurants.
PLUS all the pluses of Charleston 15 minutes away
I LOVE Summerville

The budster will be ok.
If the friend of my mom doesn't work out I have a friend at the rescue we work at who will foster him and I know she will get him the home he deserves.
He's the king among dogs...hate to lose him, but,it is what it is.
Love my budster.
He will be well taken care of

(47,675 posts)a sheltie, three cats, a rabbit, a fish, and a shitload of hermit crabs. Even if we couldn't keep him permanently, we could give him a fun environment until suitable adoptive parents come along. Reality check, though, he would probably end up here permanently. We love critters. I'll send you a PM.
