Ostrich chases cyclist riding over 30 mph

In South Africa during a race, a huge ostrich appeared out of nowhere and began chasing down a biker.
The cyclist estimates that the riders in front of him were going 35 miles per hour and it's shocking to see the ostrich keep up the pace.
I wonder what would've happened if it caught up with the bicyclist...
