2. Bob Dylan and Boxing (Interesting article)
Back in 1961, a record exec named Lou Levy took Bob Dylan to Jack Dempsey’s restaurant on 58th and Broadway in New York to introduce the folk musician to the legendary boxer. Dylan recalls the encounter in his 2004 autobiography, Chronicles, Volume One.
Dempsey sized up the young man and shook his fist at him. “You look too light for a heavyweight kid, you’ll have to put on a few pounds. You’re gonna to have to dress a little finer, look a little sharper—not that you’ll need much in the way of clothes when you’re in the ring—don’t be afraid of hitting somebody too hard.” “He’s not a boxer, Jack,” Levy corrected the champ. “He’s a songwriter and we’ll be publishing his songs.” More: http://fightland.vice.com/blog/cassius-clay-here-i-come-bob-dylan-and-boxing |

3. Well it is interesting. I was a big Dylan fan when I was a kid, and still like some of his work...
I'm not really into "sports" that damage people's brains though, football and boxing among them, although I confess we do watch the superbowl, for the commercials.

5. I'm the same way. I don't care for boxing.
I'm a big Dylan fan but had no clue he was into boxing until that article came across my Facebook feed this morning.

6. He also covered Paul Simon's "The Boxer" on Self Portrait.
There has been speculation that The Boxer is somehow about Dylan. Who knows?
