Update: Browser the cat can keep mascot job at Texas library after puppy ordeal

Cats rule, dogs drool.

Ousted library cat Browser will keep his longtime library gig in White Settlement, Texas, thanks to a change of heart among city officials.

A landslide 3-0 vote Friday ruled that the beloved feline can stay at its home of six years following outrage from the local community — and internationally — demanding Browser stay put, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Browser was at risk of losing his home living among stacks of books at the suburban Fort Worth facility, where he also poses for an annual calendar and lounges on computer keyboards.

city residents in a referendum, had the city council not come to its senses.

Browser's world renown and star status put the city council in the hot seat.

So (s)he started a petty spite campaign to kick Browser the cat out of his home. That asshole deserves not only to be kicked out of his or her home, but also to be named so we can direct our anger at the right source.

any place that stored large amounts of paper had a cat on the premises to keep the mice and rats down. They love chewing on paper and leather.

But the person who started this whole kerfuffle ought to be demoted.
