(81,859 posts)1. They should make Phelps run the hoplite

(56,582 posts)2. I enjoy running. I can't imagine doing it nude.
I mean... just... jock straps, people. They were invented for a reason.

Well Done Michael
Phelps is a beast and here's why:

Scientific Analysis Of Michael Phelpss Body Structure
What Makes Phelps So Good?
For him, the medals podium is like a second home. His speedy combination of genetics, willpower and skill has resulted in his massive medal tally. Phelps has a weirdly ergonomic (efficiency in the swimming pool) advantage over his competitors.
What's His Secret?
His extreme advantage all comes down to his freaky body structure. The following abnormal features of his body play a major role in his exceptional talent.
Height
He stands tall at 64?, which is the ideal height for swimming.
Reach
His arm span is 67?, 3 inches more than his height. Generally a persons arm span is equal to his/her height, but Phelps is not an ordinary person. This anomalous characteristic provides him with an absurd amount of pulling power in the water. Basically, his arms work as powerful propulsive (boat) paddles in a more efficient way than his competitors.

Honestly I think he'd mostly lament the Dark Ages and be sad that it took humans this long to get back to the glory of Ancient Greece.
