Labor Day Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of the country. It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend and it is considered the unofficial end of summer. The holiday is also a federal holiday. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_DayNational Cheese Pizza Day Although we are all fond of piling toppings onto our favourite pizzas, the humble cheese pizza is celebrated with Cheese Pizza Day. It is estimated that there are more than 70,000 pizzerias across the United States, demonstrating how pizza has been adopted into the national psyche. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/cheese-pizza-day/
Be Late For Something Day Are you one of those people whos incredibly punctual? Are you enslaved to the clock and counting every minute? Do you consider letting yourself have one moment of leisure when youre supposed to be somewhere something tantamount to a grievous sin? Whats wrong with you? You dont need to be on time everywhere you go, you need to stop and smell the roses once in a while and realize its all just one long rush to the grave if you dont take some time for yourself. Be Late For Something Day reminds us that sometimes, just sometimes, its ok to let things slide and not quite be on time. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/be-late-for-something-day/
International Day of Charity Every year, charities all over the world help to save and improve peoples lives, fighting disease, protecting children, and giving hope to many thousands of people. To honour the important work that these many charities do, in 2012 the United Nations decided to nominate an annual International Day of Charity as an official day of recognition and celebration. The reason the date was chosen is because it is the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. This choice commemorates the tireless work that Mother Teresa did by devoting her whole life to charity work. To celebrate this special day every year, the work of different charities all over the word is publicised and celebrated, and people are encouraged to donate money and time, to carry out charitable works, and also to educate people and raise awareness about the many charitable issues worldwide. Education and giving are the essence of this special day. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/international-day-of-charity/

(38,958 posts)is always a wise decision!!!
When I was doing historical gaming years ago, we would often describe games in the number of pizzas that would be required to complete them. Naturally the longer the game and greater number of players involved, the more pizzas were required.

(53,339 posts)I'm doing my part to keep my local Dominos franchise alive. I give good tips, and one delivery guy asked me if my pizza felt heavy. He said he'd heard my order come in and jumped into the kitchen to make it. I thought he was joking until I opened the box and found my pizza LOADED with my toppings. Another delivery guy picked only the biggest chicken pieces for my chicken tenders order.

(38,958 posts)When we order delivery, it's from a local St. Louis franchise chain called IMO's.
Mrs. Sherman A1 prefers their thin crust. I just go along for whatever she would like. We don't order that often, but I always do take good care of the drivers.

(34,195 posts)Last time I bought a Dominos' pizza it arrived at room temperature and tasted like the cardboard box it came in.
There was no flavor of the sauce, meat or veggies. Very bland. Blah!
I emailed a complaint to Dominos and they responded that they could/would do nothing as the place I got it from was a franchise and not a company store.
Too bad -- So sad
Now I order from PaPa John's. Good pizza but they don't have THICK crust.

Besides tipping well, I let my delivery people know that that I really like to get my order very hot and fresh. They put me first on their delivery list.

(34,195 posts)My experience was about one year ago.
It was more than the ingredients needed improving. It was a totally bad experience.
I'd bought Dominos before and liked them enough that I ordered one this final time.
Dominos could have at least said "We're sorry you had this experience".
Instead they said "Not our problem".

(53,339 posts)Like Papa John's even though they set up an operation in the gas station right on my corner.
I've been to a local pizza/pasta restaurant that does charity events for us and gives us a generous kickback. I've also seen the owner and his wife personally carrying pizzas to us for our volunteers at a charity event. I need to find out if I'm in their delivery area. I usually get their lasagna or baked ziti at charity events in their restaurant, with a bottle of wine.
If their deliveries include a bottle of wine, I'm in!
