National Punch Day The word punch means five, originating from the Hindustani word panch. Get Ready Day Being prepared to deal with an emergency is important for anyone and this is what Get Ready Day is all about. It is staged each year as a way of encouraging individuals, families, and communities to consider what is required in the event of natural disasters, pandemic illnesses, infectious diseases, and other crisis events. 2. I need to do more to Get Ready

I do have a hand crank radio, lots of Harbor Freight LED lights (hey, they were free) and we have several cases of water in the house along with a well stocked pantry. I should probably do some more in shelf stable food products and have a bit more water around.
