Saugatuck, Grand Haven & South Haven are nice. but you're right about just about every place in sw MI. Holland and Grand Rapids have been overrun by the Dutch Mafia, i.e. Amway, Van Andel this, DeVos that. They remind me of Don the Con--they have to have their names plastered on every single fucking building, bench, park, urinal, you name it. if they "donated" a dime, it's named after one or the other. There are other philanthropists in town, but none of them are as obnoxious. And western Michigan is the home of Erik Prince of Blackwater/Xe infamy. He's a DeVos inlaw--his sister Betsy, married one of the DeVos spawwn. Ugh.

Yup, I like Lansing. Now if we could just get rid of the fucking bagger legislature & governor, it would be awesome.
