I've been blessed and fortunate to have experienced dolphins and porpoise (Dall's and Harbor) interacting with our sailboat on three different occasions!
One memorable time, the porpoise was riding the bow wave, took off for an instant, returned with a 'gift' in its mouth (a float bulb of bull kelp), rolled over on his/her side and our eyes met for about 5 seconds. The intelligence looking back at me blew me away.
Whoa...I still get chills thinking about that.

They sometimes rub their backs on our keel. I extended a go pro pole down under water to see them cycle around and noticed marks and scratches on back. caught a few shots of them bumping the bottom of the keel as they'd shoot past.

If I could choose to be any other animal it would definitely be a dolphin or porpoise!

Speaking of Go Pro, did you watch the GoPro video inside a crab pot lowered off Seattle?
Here's part 2. :

I could watch this all day!
I'm thinking about getting a GoPro to see what's going on underwater in my pond. I have it stocked with Rainbow trout, crawdads and turtles (and an occasional marauding, invading River Otter that likes to devour all of the above!)
