48 years ago tomorrow I was hungover as a goat.

It was the morning of my wedding in 1969.
I felt like shit.
The night before didn't involve strippers or hookers.
We didn't do that back then.
It did involve a LOT of Scotch.

During the ceremony I dropped the prayer book and was afraid to bend over to pick it up.
I thought I might just keep going down.
Luckily I didn't.
Keel over.

And here we are, 48 years happily ever after.
In those years Miz t. has cut me more slack than I ever thought existed.

She stuck until I finally grew out of' my 'prolonged adolescence'.
Bless. Her. Heart.
What a trouper.

Tomorrow evening we will dine at our favorite, once-a-year, special-occasion, upscale restaurant.

We will each have one Martini (gin, NOT vodka), Caesar salads, filet mignons.
Medium rare.
We will probably bring half home and have it the next night.
It will be WAY off budget, but our once a year extravagance.

Happy Anniversary! We share the same special day. I met my husband in high school in Virginia. Our father's were both career military. He followed me out to college in Washington State, and we got married during spring break. Married on a Saturday and back to school on Monday. Tomorrow it will be 42 years for us. The time has certainly flown. We are as devoted to each other as we were way back then, probably even more so, since over the years we have had many good times and some very difficult times.
