John and Alan Lomax first recorded him in a Louisiana prison in 1933. Then I see all the other recordings and think, "Who didn't record this song?"

I was aware of some of the recordings but not all. Found out that Frank Sinatra, Ernest Tubb, Red Foley and Jo Stanford had also recorded it.
