Anyone know how to open up an old Word doc?

3. There might be legacy apps available. I had to get a free legacy app to view a

10-year-old downloaded video on my Mac.

If all else fails, visit a Mac forum. I get a lot of questions answered that way.

4. Upload it to Google Drive and open it there

6. I use Open Office. It opens MS Office docs from 95 on.

That's including Word, Power Point and whatever the MS spreadsheet is called. And it's free.

7. I use Macs as well

Within the Word application, try opening the old document using the Open command in the File menu. Navigate to the old file and Select it. Click on the Open button. You may be asked which format to use; I just make a best guess from the selections. Good luck!
