With the vehicle rocking and the couple upgrading to a larger vehicle each time with another kid in tow?

(86,611 posts)There's a car ad that portrays that? Wow.
The problem I have with this ad: I own a New Beetle almost like the one the couple had as their first car - mine is yellow not blue, but other than that.... There is no damn way in hell anyone could have sex in that thing; there's enough room in the car for people to sit comfortably in the back seat, but no more. Even if you flipped down the back seat to form cargo area you couldn't do it.

(10,127 posts)The rest is a little tasteless given they play it all day. Just one more thing to explain to my 8 yo daughter while we watch golf at noon on at Sunday. "Daddy, what's E.D.?"

(550 posts)I never really pay attention to commercials...but I watched this one because the blue Beetle at the beginning is a carbon copy of my daughter's car. So yep - I find it very weird.

I would also add the Charmin bears bragging about how clean their underwear is, and the Juicy Fruit ad to the list.

(28,394 posts)If they have children, they must have a house or apartment, no? So why are they *you know* out in their vehicle? I think it's trashy, like that saying, "don't come a-knockin' if the van is a-rockin'. "

(14,400 posts)until they started playing it every damned ad cycle, sometimes 2 or even 3 times.
The worst is Premier League soccer on the weekends, I swear that's the only ad they show...Well maybe those equally annoying "real people" Chevy ads.
After awhile it's like c'mon you guys have hundreds of ads, at least play a couple of different ones.

(12,153 posts)and that it might be because I'm 73. I'm glad I'm not alone in finding the ad tasteless.
True Dough
(17,305 posts)wouldn't be thrilled that most DUers dislike the ad but they'd surely be satisfied to know their ad is generating "buzz" (like the bees of "the birds and the bees" and getting tongues wagging (as may have also happened in the vehicles shown in the commercial).

But I'll take your word for it!

(6,261 posts)It was amusing the first couple of times, but excessive repetition is lethal to humour in TV ads.
Besides, I always preferred the Jewel Akens version.
