CSI Miami...yes, I am late to the game. No, I was not ready for this show.

I was a big fan of NYPD Blue from day 1. I thought David Caruso was great. I heard all of the stories about the cast, crew, director, etc. loathing this guy because he was impossible to work with. Still thought he was great.

Haven't had cable for years, which is probably why I've never caught the show (as fans know, it ended in 2012). I've had Netflix and Hulu off and on but it was only last week when I decided to check out a few episodes on Hulu.

1). Extreme pastel / neon hues in many of the shots. Do crime scene labs REALLY look like this? Does Miami really look like this?

2). Impossibly attractive people with nary so much as a single skin blemish in every role. Are they somehow Photoshopped frame-by frame or are they just impossibly attractive? Do all crime scene investigators have personal hair stylists?

3). The Who in the opening credits, of course. A cast member...usually Caruso...takes a long, thoughtful pause and drops a non sequitur of some kind and Roger Daltrey screams. You'd think that would get old after 10 seasons. Apparently it did not.

4). Impossible clues lead to solving the crime every time. There are no "cold case files" with this crew. "This strand of hair could only come from a caucasian male, age 34, six feet two inches, who drives a Lexus and works at Bank of America. His favorite color is blue and he's an avid tennis buff. We're using GPS and DNA to lock in on his house right now."

WOW! How do they DO that? Are ALL crime scene investigators THIS successful ALL the time?

5). And yes, Caruso. Jim Carrey nailed the man's mojo:

I sense binge watching dead ahead.

If viewed as a satirical or camp version of cop/crime shows, it's watchable. LonePirate Jun 2017 #1

Also, the early episodes of the series were filmed as (American) TV was beginning its transition to HD thus some of the cinematography is interesting.
