(25,285 posts)I just took some melatonin. In a few minutes i'll get real relaxed. I work on a crossword puzzle as well and as I relax I get drowsy and fall asleep. The crossword puzzle focuses my mind only on it and keeps my mind off of the problems of the day. Works every time. Goodnight!!!!

It runs in my family, though. I am on the West Coast and I have family in the DC area who I can depend in to reliably be awake at midnight....MY time!

(16,390 posts)It's what happens when you get off work at 10:30 pm. I just finished making two loaves of banana bread, though.

"I admire the work of Degas...but he's no Bob Ross."
I had no idea who Bob Ross was until my son started telling Bob Ross jokes, thinking I would get it.
I didn't. The worst thing possible happened to him, he needed to explain his joke.

(26,308 posts)From 11:30 until 2:30, eastern standard time. Safari Live (Part of the NatGeo network) airs live safaris in Kenya and South Africa.
Sometimes when they are having trouble finding animals, the guides constant time filling dialog lulls me to sleep. But when the wildlife is abundant, well, I'd rather be watching them than sleeping, anyway.

(33,579 posts)...those who don't care about it and those who do.
Unfortunately, I'm the latter. It has an upside though, which is this: I have learned so much while being unable to sleep, as miserable as I may feel, by reading, and then reading, and then reading some more.
Use the time.
Nobody in America should be able to sleep, in any case, given the horrible racist in chief in the White House.
I read on my iPad. If the battery on that runs out, I read on my Nook.
I have my nightly sites that I go to: bookmarked sites for long pieces, then news aggregators, a paranormal board, a magazine from the library that I can get online, pictures at flickr or maybe Imgur. Perhaps a little Reddit. It's now a routine.
I finally get some sleep between 4 and 8 a.m.

(1 post)I can never sleep! Just found out about this podcast that tells boring stories to help Listeners fall asleep. Was skeptical at first but after two nights of passing out halfway through these stories, I will be listening more often. The podcast is called Sleep With Me if you're interested

(23,579 posts)I put watergate documentaries on lately. Sometimes I do old time radio shows from archive.org sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't I will try that podcast of yours. If I am very upset and anxious sometimes nothing helps and I get two or three hours of sleep.
