mainly a love story with a revolutionary backdrop. Still a pretty good movie.

I think there's a thread on here somewhere about "Reds", the movie.

Like S_n_TN says, it's largely a love story, but Beatty got lots of interviews from people who were around at the time of events that are interwoven with the film . It's kind of amazing that the film got made in 1980, right at the dawn of the Reagan years.

Also Trotsky's birthday . And mine. As Trotsky said, "Let the numerologists make of that what they will."

Happy Birthday socialist_n_TN! What an auspicious day to have a birthday on! (I'm assuming you weren't actually born in 1917. )

I was born a few decades later. I'm not sure I had much of a choice in my politics though.

Thanks for the happy birthday wishes. It's been a good day. My BFF and his wife called me about 7:50 this morning singing "Happy birthday to you" and it went on from there.
