Play with the clouds to make them more 3d or call them done?

1. Done.

It looks like, if you do anything more it would drastically alter the balance. What medium is it? The buildings could do with a little more definition.

JMHO. I like the colors and the texture.

8. It's watercolor. I do have plans to define the building a bit more. :)

16. It would be...

A challenge to add much more to the clouds but if your eye sees more, you should do it. Maybe walk away for a couple hours and look at it again.

Nice work, an interesting scene.

2. That one red edge on the right side of the big middle cloud

could use a little softening, IMO, but otherwise, it's lovely. The water is exceptional!

Is this a watercolor?

9. Yes, watercolor. I see what you mean about softening the cloud.

3. I'd leave it alone.

Water colors are rarely improved by tinkering - too easy to turn them muddy. This one has nice bright colors and doesn't need anything else.

4. When I use water colors, I have a personal rule when I'm on the fence

Set it aside for a week or more and then come back to it. Almost invariably I am much happier with the work I’ve done after my “waiting period.”

Especially with the sky.

I honestly think this looks great. Your light is really well done and I like how loose you are with your lines.

Really nice.

11. Thank you. I'm on a deadline. This is this year's St. Patrick's Day piece for school.

All the other ones are up already.

7. I like Bristlecone's idea

About stepping away from it for a day or two. I do the same and I always seem to see the work in a different light when I do.

I think your clouds are perfect, but maybe a tad more definition in the buildings. Not too much! And nothing too dark!

17. And it will change a little by the time it is completely dry.

So maybe wait longer than a couple hours to look at it again.

19. It's dry now in the clouds. Only the windows and land on the left are damp.

20. It has a beautiful simplicity as it is.....

That's what's why I love watercolor: you can achieve so much with a few strokes.
