not nearly gnarly enough, maybe. you could shade in those knuckles. either strongly or subtly.
i rly like the palette. i might spread a bit of white on the rt foot.

powerful image. good job.

I wanted to keep the contrast that's why I didn't use the white on the right foot. (left?) I will take another look at the knuckles. Thanks!

I wish I had your talent. Takes me a couple weeks of hard work to get something decent but not as well executed as you did in a couple of hours!

it's weird for me, sometimes after I draw and see what I've made, I can't believe it came from my hand. I suffer greatly from imposter syndrome.

I simply know what I like and sometimes why I like it. I truly appreciate yours. It depicts exactly how I feel. Life is hard but beautiful.

May I have your permission to use it as wallpaper someday on my phone?

Good luck and I’ll keep my eye out for an enlarged version.

Thank you for your permission.

Just so you know, when I’m having a particularly bad day your image will remind me what it all means.

which allows you to capture the light highlights. I always get my best rendering results when I use toned paper. You get both dark and light well as neutral grey (3) compared to white paper which only allows for dark and light (2). No wonder the great artists always preferred toned paper when they sketched.

Please pursue it, and be sure to show us more of your art in the future..........

Not sure I understand it. Are they supposed to be dancer injuries - or have any relationship to the pain of ballet? If yes, it doesn't seem like the injuries correspond to where pain/bruises would be?

If something else ( the comparison) over my head? except for stunning juxtaposition of grace/beauty against pain and hardship?

I'm not trained so I can't really speak to any technical aspects. I just know what i like and this is one of those pieces.

The juxtaposition is very powerful.

danced on point, had bloody toes, wore band aides, but loved dancing. They both danced in local ballet companies, performed in the Nutcracker, Cinderella, danced solos, etc. By the time they went to college, they were done. One granddaughter danced throughout high school, the youngest one, hated ballet, stopped before she was 10.

The art work is what dancers feet look like. (I danced as a 5 to 10 year old, I loved it. Parents said there was no more money for classes, as soon as I was ready to go on point.) I know sharing too much info, but the drawing is beautiful and realistic.

It really gets across the suffering ballerinas go through for the sake of their art.

It is brutal, in a direct, honest, and good way.
