I would give art supplies and art books to everyone in the world who had depression or anxiety or anything like that. If I ever win the lottery maybe I can do that...

Note: my largest board there is "current events." Yep, I take politics to Pinterest, bigly. It tends to be a repub place but there are other DUers there.

I admire people who do pastel, requires a lot of patience...I do oil, requires less patience.

Good job, very real.

Right hand which suffered when a lesion near the “hand knob” of my brain made my hand very clumsy.

I couldn’t sit up for all that long at a time and I couldn’t use my right hand very long at a time so I used pastels as therapy because they come together so quickly and they always stay “wet” so I can start and stop without any problems.

This painting only took a couple hours of work at the most. In oils I have no idea how long it wouldn’t have taken, maybe weeks?

So I think it’s oil that requires more patience! 😀

i followed you.

i just started painting again for the first time in about 12 years. I don't have your talent but it is so relaxing! I can paint for awhile without even smoking let alone thinking about how the world's going to hell in a handbasket and i can't find a job and all that noise. the noise goes away.

sometimes i make a painting that i like but it's more of a fluke when that happens than anything.

Trying, I’m stubborn, I keep painting.

I used to love coloring in my coloring books when I was a kid. Then I got a Spirograph and I was really in heaven although I never had the special colored ink pens and always wished for them.

Basically I just never grew up, I guess, because i still love coloring. For a long time I was in the Army and I didn’t do art, was just too tired (had MS all my life since my teenage years but didn’t know it, but the chronic fatigue from it kicked my rear end) but now since I’m not working I have enough time and energy to color again.

What is a Screenshot?
When used as a verb, "screenshot" means capturing a static image of your device's display. In other words, it's taking a picture of whatever is showing on your computer, mobile, or tablet screen at the time.

You look for imperfections, I just look at the beauty of the colors and how it makes me feel happy and calm. I do the same when I make something or my flowers are blooming, I always think I could have done more or done something different and had a better result. I am trying to stop being such a perfectionist and just appreciate the result without all the critical mess going on in my head. I am working hard to focus on the good, not the bad, but it's not that easy.
