Related: About this forumIn memory of....John Hurt..Chestbuster Scene..from Alien (1979)...please read warning...
John Hurt plays ..Kane..a crewmember who seemingly has recovered from a very serious injury on an unknown planet....He is sitting with fellow crew members starting to eat when something starts to bother him...........
warning: this is one of the most horrific scenes in all movie history. John Hurt and the director and some stage crew, were the only ones who knew what was going to happen. The other actors did not know what would follow. Their reactions are real and unrehearsed ...Please do not watch..if you have fear of this kind of thing, or you have never seen it before, OR have eaten somethg.........Again..YOU ARE WARNED, yes..it is that bad.....it may take a short time to load..scene lasts 2:02 You may never forget what you see

(38,424 posts)kinda in the back ...not knowing what was going to happen.
.Two loud fellow movie goers a few rows ahead of me said..."Here it comes".....so there was a 10 second warning...and then this scene hit..On a big screen with the loud sound......exceptional and horrific in unspeakable terms...a great movie..as was its sequel .... ..Aliens...

(2,533 posts)The snarling little character was a exact duplicate of a semi stunted doggie -MAX!- who went into fits of excitement but couldn't control himself-snarling & gnashing.
He really was a great dog spazz attacks & all. At about 8" tall he even managed to impregnate my much larger doggie when I left them together for a day. Figured no way MAX! could get busy but when the puppies came-MAX!....
And nobody in the audience would understand but it made me laugh.

(2,533 posts)My mother was deep in the film biz & I was never very impressed by graphics etc...That may be part of it.
But I was there alone-yeah-and it was 1st run. Front row & I remember it well....
And then as now couldn't care less what others thought of my reaction.
