expected in early May.
It's unlikely Ezra will be able to top 2013's brilliant Modern Vampires of the City (unquestionably the most universally critically acclaimed record of that year, and among the tops of the decade), esp. after the departure of highly-talented multi-instrumentalist Batmanglij in 2016, but the pre-release singles have all been pretty promising, I gotta say.
This is the one getting the most attention but they've put out 6 songs ahead of the 19-song record, and they've all been pretty decent.

(33,643 posts)They killed on SNL back in 2013 when their last album (Modern Vampires of the City) came out. The Guitarist/Pianist guy is the one that left the band, he was a pretty key component to their sound, although Ezra writes all their songs.
These are both killer tracks and great perfs ...

It has some jarring vocal effects that I kinda hated the first time, but after a few spins ... the hooks sink in and you realize ... it's a freaking GREAT song. I could still do with the effect being toned down, but the rest of it is just so good ... deeply spiritual.
